Honey Based Toppings and Glazes
An easy way to elevate your favourite dishes and desserts
You can combine The Honey Company® raw honey varieties with nuts, dry fruits or fresh fruits and spices to make toppings. You could make honey based toppings and glazes that work beautifully on toasts, pancakes, waffles, cakes, ice creams, yogurt bowls, or cheese platters and to glaze roast vegetables and meat.

🍯 Six Honey Based Topping Recipes
1. Honey-Nut Crunch Topping
Use with: Greek yogurt, vanilla ice cream, or warm toast.
Ingredients:

4 tbsp raw honey
-
½ cup roasted mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews), chopped

Pinch of cinnamon
Method: Warm honey slightly (not above 40°C), stir in nuts and cinnamon.
2. Citrus Honey Drizzle
Use with: Pancakes, waffles, or fruit salads.
Ingredients:

3 tbsp raw honey
-
Zest of 1 orange
-
1 tbsp fresh orange juice
Method: Mix all together until smooth.
3. Honey-Chili Garlic Drizzle
How to Use: Drizzle over grilled prawns, roasted chicken, paneer skewers, cheese crostini or even on avocado toast for a spicy-sweet kick.
Ingredients:

3 tbsp raw honey

1 fresh red chili (finely chopped, deseeded if less heat is desired)

1 small garlic clove (grated)
-
1 tsp apple cider vinegar (or lime juice)

1 tsp olive oil
-
A pinch of salt
Method:

Warm the olive oil gently (do not overheat).

Add garlic and chili, sauté for 30–40 seconds until fragrant.

Take off heat, let it cool slightly, then stir in honey, vinegar/lime juice, and salt.

Mix until well combined into a glossy drizzle.
4. Berry Honey Compote
Use with: Cheesecake, yogurt bowls, or fresh bread/toast.
Ingredients:

1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)

3 tbsp honey

1 tsp lemon juice
Method: Simmer berries gently for 5 mins, stir in honey and lemon juice.
5. Honey-Basil Pesto Drizzle
Use with: Fresh mozzarella, pizza, or bruschetta.
Ingredients:

¼ cup fresh basil leaves

2 tbsp honey
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
Pinch of salt
Method: Blend basil with olive oil, fold in honey.

Use with: Tropical fruit bowls, pancakes, or as a dip for cookies.
Ingredients:

½ cup chilled coconut cream

2 tbsp honey
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
Method: Whip everything until smooth and fluffy.

1. Honey Garlic Glaze
Use: Perfect over chicken wings, salmon, or stir-fry veggies.
Ingredients

½ cup honey
-
3 tbsp soy sauce
-
3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
Method: Simmer honey, soy, garlic, and vinegar for 5 mins. Stir in cornstarch slurry until slightly thick.
2. Honey Mustard Glaze
Use: Chicken breasts, pork chops, or roasted root vegetables.
Ingredients

¼ cup honey

3 tbsp Dijon mustard

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Salt & pepper to taste
Method: Whisk all ingredients until smooth. Brush over meat/fish before baking or grilling.
3. Spicy Honey Chili Glaze
Use: Glaze for chicken wings, shrimp, or roasted sweet potatoes.
Ingredients

½ cup honey

2 tbsp hot sauce (like Sriracha)

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp red chili flakes
Method: Warm ingredients together until combined.
4. Honey Balsamic Glaze
Use: Drizzle over roasted veggies, mozzarella, or grilled peaches.
Ingredients

½ cup balsamic vinegar

¼ cup honey

Pinch of salt
Method: Simmer vinegar and honey on low until syrupy (8–10 mins).
